A Big Heart for Community Group Fundraising & Events

As a registered charity, Apex Camps understands the dedication and important role community groups play in delivering many life-saving and life-changing events.

30 years ago we started Apex Camps to provide opportunities and experiences for under privileged and disadvantaged youth.  That legacy continues today.  Apex Camps runs, sponsors and supports numerous community based programs.

A core strength of Apex Camps is that we actively encourage small niche groups to stay with us along with groups requiring high needs, disabled facilities and supportive respite centres.  At Apex Camps, it’s not just the facilities that support these groups but having our amazing staff who understand unique requirements and make all guests feel welcomed, relaxed and valued.

Often church groups and other small organisations are not profitable enough for everyday commercial camp providers. We warmly open our doors and meet the unique needs of these groups and others such as Alcoholics Anonymous where we provide exclusivity to our site for privacy and confidentiality when they visit.

We see a growing need to maintain support of fellow non-profit associations.  As such we currently have a purpose built 30-bed disabled accommodation unit at Apex Camp Mudjimba on the drawing board.

We are proud of the work we undertake every year with various organisations to help deliver positive initiatives, support fundraising and also deliver our own beneficial programs.

An example is our Kids to the Coast program which we have been running for over a decade. The program is a week long residential holiday camp for children from rural families or disadvantaged backgrounds.  Its purpose is to give children a free, fully funded, fun and exciting holiday experience participating in once in a lifetime tailored program.

Through sponsorship by Apex Camps, and fundraising by local Apex Clubs, all costs of the camp are met, including funding from the Apex Foundation to provide bus transport to and from camp.

The Queensland State finals of the Apex Australia High School Debating and Teenage Fashion Awards programs is proudly sponsored by Apex Camps and has been for the last 4 years. In September each year several hundred guests converge on Apex Camp Mudjimba for the finals of both events. Apex Camps provides all accommodation, facilities and catering free of charge.

At a local level each of our camps support numerous community events including P&C bike rides, local charity days, and SES and Rural Fire Service training weekends to name just a few.  We actively seek to be a valued contributor to the local communities in which we operate and look to employ local staff, utilise local contractors, purchase local produce and work hand-in-hand with other groups to promote the regions we operate in.
