In 1986 Apex Camp Mudjimba was first formed by a group of civic minded Apexians from the local Apex Club specifically to provide camp opportunities for children from disadvantaged and underprivileged backgrounds.

As a registered not for profit charity we have remained committed to supporting local communities around all our Camps and community based initiatives.  For more than a decade Apex Camp Mudjimba has been delivering Kids to the Coast program . This week-long residential holiday camp program for children from rural or remote families and disadvantaged backgrounds is provided free to families. Its purpose is to give  children a fun and exciting holiday experience participating in activities they may never have had the opportunity to try.

Apex Camps’ commitment to giving back extends across our camps.  Every year Apex Camps helps local community groups make a difference by providing complimentary Camps – Apex Camp Greenup to the Inglewood State School P&C for their annual Charity Bike Ride, Apex Camp Lake Tinaroo to the SES for their training field exercises, or making our camps available to very small groups from respite centres and disability groups who can’t secure places at commercial providers. These are just some of the many ways Apex Camps gives back to the community.

In 2016 we are very excited to be expanding the Kids to the Coast program in 2016 to include a second camp at Apex Camp Magnetic Island.  Through sponsorship by Apex Camps, and fundraising by local Apex Clubs, all costs of the camp are met.

Our founding organisation Apex, is focussed heavily on youth initiatives.  Initiatives include the Apex High School Debating Competition and Teenage Fashion Design Awards. These programs are fantastic opportunities for students to become involved in extra curricular activities that promote creativity, confidence, team work and communication skills.
